Obviously 460's are quite old cars, but within my budget what kind of condition should I expect?

You should expect the absolute very best - very few if not one owner, full service history, absolutely mint, low mileage, etc, etc

I just gave away mine for that type of money, 1990, 124k aircon turbo intercooler, new suspention springs, new MB brakes, etc, etc.

It was a fantastic car with no rust. The highest bid I got on ebay was £4100. If you are patiant, the come along.

You should be able to get an early 463 for that kind of money.

how do the later G-wagons compare on reliability to the 460's ?

Searching through Autotrader / ebay etc there do not seem to be any 'mint' 460's :(

Join the M-BENZ OWNERS CLUB and open up your horizons.lots of old boy enthusiasts out there who cant be bothered to advertise in autotrader etc.
Be patient like me and you will find a Gem like mine.Check out kaishi 123's thread about my G and you will see what i mean.(quite a few pics there to see)Met my cousin in london last night and he is also looking for a 460, when he saw mine especially the interior he was shocked to say the least.

Patience is the word.
Just hang in there and keep checking every day - they do come up but(sometimes) go just as quick.

Christo's was a really nice one and would have suited you.

More than likely, you will find it posted here by one of the members.

Is there a web link to M-BENZ OWNERS CLUB?

I am popping along to the g-class centre next week so it will be interesting to see how tidy their G's are

But as far as I know (I'm a member) there are only 3 in the club, certainly only 3 owners on the members forum
