Steel wheel widening

Does anyone know who still widens steel wheels(also called banding)?
Am after wider 16-inch steel wheels with either zero or negative offset.

Re: Steel wheel widening
I'm pretty sure banded wheels are illegal these days.
Modern method is to remove the centres & weld on a new rim.

I'm still looking for the relevant info, but it might appear no one can produce a written form of the legislation

Re: Steel wheel widening
Check these guys out, I too thought banding was illegal but apparently not!
They reckon they're having them tested by Rimstock wheels for safety...
Oh and hello BTW...
Some people have said the same, though I have yet to be shown confirmation of this. One of the my G-wagens have a set fitted and passed full VOSA MOT in June this year with no comment about the wheels, so unless someone can show me where in UK law it states that banding is illegal, then this is what I will do.
Unless a miracle happens and Mangels actually decide to answer their telephone or my emails.
I think the time you will get into trouble is if it hasn't been done properly and they fall apart at 100mph and you kill someone. Goodness, some of my welders are rated for seabed welding, but it still isn't the same as someone who specializes in this sort of thing, who has done it for years and knows what they are doing eyes closed.
Hence my post here in the hope to find someone who is recommended :?
