Track rods 1989 280 LWB
I have been told that it is quite difficult to determine which track rods fit which model.
a. Is this correct?
b. Any suggestions of how to find a pair to replace mine? The pair are £300 plus at Mercedes.
try g class center.

Transits apparently fit on one end for £15 :wink: ... but that leaves one more and the 2 swaged in ends... these could be cut and a bush welded in to make them Transit like for not a lot.. still leaves the last one .. but again an adapter to cross over would not be impossible. I did find some aftermarket ends for the replaceable ones .. not got the details with me at the moment but they were £45 or more :shock:
I bought new dust covers, WD40 to flush and then regreased .. yet to see how the MOT man likes the feel as they are really too rust pitted to be right but at 3k miles or less a year it seems extravagent at the moment. I think this will reveal my totally knacker steering damper as the siezed rod ends did a great damping job.
.. spent 2 months kicking them around the floor.. so I know them well now!
