My 280 GE LWB 1987 petrol failed MOT today not unexpectedly Lost of advisories and some easy fail points but main ones were nearside and offside track-rod end ball joints excessive play. Dust covers split so no grease about. Nearside back spring broke. Any thoughts on sourcing bits.

In addition engine idle high so emission failed test. Co actually 5234 with limit of 3500 HC was 199 with limit of 1200 so passed that bit. I tweaked the "white" knob to lower idle RPM on a warm engine to about 800 RPM but at that it stalled so increased it a bit. Any thoughts Cheers Gary :(

Re: MOT Failure

on the Jetronic fuel injection it is a fine line between air and fuel and if you have not any experience very difficult to talk you through it. go onto the internet and put "Jetronic Fuel injection" or "Jetronic fuel system for M110 engines" might get you there in your search engine ...read what you receive and that's a start...if you understand the advice you can do t yourself
