All, investigation on my 460 reveals rust (holed) along bottom edges of rear light panels. Having cut this away to thicker support bar. All rest from light upwards looks to be good.

Question - Do I need to replace the panel completely (Additional work plus £50 a side) or from your experience will the internals (door support etc etc) be ok?.....It all looks fine from outside and from what I can see through rear light apeture.

To add - my end goal is a safe tidy vehicle if a patch would be ok for 5 years or so? I could live with that, but if there is a danger of having to replace the panel in a year or so then I would do it now.

Don't mess around, the nice bit of rust will be back, they are quite easy to replace the whole panel.

The rust will return because water, dust and therefore mud go through holes between those panels and the rear wheel arches and also through the ageing or missing rubbers (4 rubber seals) on the rear door hinges through to the base of the rear light clusters and the bottom of the rear door.
