placing 463 Body on 460 chassis ??
hi guys this is actually my first post here...after a long search i found ur site to be really informative...well to make a long story short i live in egypt and what i'm gonna be doing might be costly but taking into consideration a new 2007 G500 would cost around $400,000 casue of taxes,so u dont see any here , yeah i know it sucks :S ....anyway i'm planning on buying a used 1984-1988 W460 here,they come cheap....and then buying a used 2002 and up g500 or g55 from the states and part the car and import the body shell ,interior,engine...everything ....and just place it into my w460 and convert it into a w463 in everyway ..
Well my Q is ...will the w463 shell fit onto the w460 chassis easily ? i know they r the same shape but under there is it the same 2 ?

i looked into this exact topic a few years ago and was told "NOT POSSIBLE"
so that answers that!
but i still think it can be done being a turk!!
apparantly the bodt mounts do not match up and so it will not look original so i was told.
i see you have the same problem as us in n-cyprus.
well i guess the bumpers are the biggest visual impact factor wawzy.
plus get yourself a 463 nudgebar and the 5 hole 7.5x16 alloys plus spacers and you will have nice updated 460 without trying to be a 463 wannabe!!!!
i have looked into this for many years and this is my own personal idea that i might end up doing to my cabrio in n-cyprus.
ebay.de is the place to pick up cheap parts.

thanks lot for the info ...i guess gotta do some more research :) ....maybe yeah just change the front headlights and bumpers....but i;m also into replacing the interior ;) ..yeah lots of work to do ....check the pic attached i tink ur cabrio would look great tuned like this ;)

Hi guys i own and been in the process of coverting W460 280GE to W463 style i bought this kit got shipped from indonesia long hasle,but kit is very dissapointing. First of all the mould is not set right and its very fragile the front grille is deform in shape if u try to bend verylittle to fasten screws it breaks. Then the side mirror are without mirror you have findout a way to get mirror fixed and cut into the assembly. bumper fibreglass gauge is so thin it starts to break or crack. I bought this all kit really i had to trash everything i got shipped and for which I had been excitedly waiting ,when it arrived i did inspection nightmare was the only result. I will not recomend anybody to buy this kit. trust me the material is too thin and quality is not there. I vill post the picture of mi G which went throu a comprehensive body. overall my dream was to put indra body kit, ihad told all mi friends about it iam doing a conversion, regrette fully i had to use mi old one which were still in quality if painted came out to be perfect fit. The main issue with his kit is fixing n installation its very brittle and keeps cracking which is very upsetting.

Strangely enough a dealer had 2 or 3 sat around in the yard, unrepaired, as there were issues between the insurance company and I guess owners were not bothered (happens sometimes) but the dealer wouldn't let it be used for parts.
Placing a 463 body on a 460 chassis is possible with just a few minor modifications. Here in Holland (where everything is illegal and if not it's taxed) it gets done quite often. Same with landrovers and range rovers. That's because over 25 y/o cars are roadtax-free. Well lets say i change the front grill and headlights ...give it a facelift of the w463...is there anything in the measurments of the body thats different ??
