Looking through the forum , saw this , 3+ years late , did this to a 96 461 lwb ex macedonian army van , used 460 rhd donor, cut and moved battery box across , cut pedal box panel from donor , used donor s/box and steering arms etc ,use every day , lhd hand brake and wipers not an issue.[left lateral axle location rod in lhd position] approx 3 months evenings +cost of scrap 280 . Looks 99% factory.
Hi,
I want to do this to a 1995 LHD G350. Any ideas where I can get the parts?
Thanks,
Michael.
Why do you want to do this? Given the height of the G, lhd is not much of an obstacle to overtaking and given its fuel consumption you should probably avoid overtaking anyway.
The clincher though is that lhd vehicles hold their value better than rhd.
Just to prove my sincerity I'll happily swap my ge300 for a lhd ge300 of similar age and condition.
And re Judy Horgan post, if yours is a 350 turbo diesel you might be best advised to put your money aside to meet potential engine problems
I don't think there are any parts, 1995 G350 never made in RHD. Of course anything is possible, but its a massive undertaking, and as prwales says, you'll be spending a fortune to de value the G.
Thanks for your reply. I posted the question before I bought the G350. It has 350K KM's and is running like a dream. I hope you're wrong about the potential engine problems! For the moment I can only say that you can't hear it when driving along on the motorway!
