This is the rear axle of my 280. The crack looks like it has been there for a long time, I seem to have just snaped the last bit yesterday.

It is being welded up on Monday. I was just wondering if anyone else has done this or if MB do a spare part for welding on, that is porbably one for our man in Spain.

Hi I looked at a 463 SWB the other day and the boltholes had elongated to within 5 mill of bracket edge due to loose bolts..remedied by welding bushes into the holes and filling the gaps with weld rgds

Could #11 be the part you are looking for? Unfortunately I seem unable to find a part number for it... perhaps if you show this to your MB garage they will source the part for you.

Item 11 is not for the drag links .. it is the shock mount.. so no MB part.

Funny how that has cracked as you would think that 99% of the time that area is not stressed as this is all under compression. I would be looking for some other reason like a stone/rust jammed between axle and link at front that caused an unusual stress (... or bent drag links .. or lift kits .. or incorrect loading by abuse?). .. and then look at the other 3 links....
