turbo kit for a 82 300gd
i contated stt in sweeden yesterday and cannot get a turbo kit. all they have is spare parts for them. is ther any other companys that make the kiits????
Try TB turbos in Lancastershire/lancaster, very up to speed on turbos, incl on "G"'s.

But for the price you may be better trying to buy a turbo engine out of a sedan and get it fitted. Also there are numerous potential problems when trying to fit a turbo to what I presume from your profile is a 25 year old engine.
Hi Darren GWOA members Northern Ireland have an 87 SWB 300d with the TB turbo conversion c/w intercooler and an 85 SWb in the final stages of fitting a 617A factory turboed engine..come to the meeting at Ballynahinch on Sunday (see Buckalec info on this forum)...and you can see how it is done!!! No sure if this applies to Gs but a right hand drive W123 300TD was never made as the steering box was in the way for the turbo.So if you could find a 300Td engine which is almost impossible if it's from a W123,it would not fit unless you modify the manifold.I spoke to someone the other day and he said this also applies to Gs but I looked at a W123 300D the other day and would imagine there would be more room on a G,I will have a look when my 300Gd arrives.The other thing you can do is have a custom manifold made up and fit the turbo to that.Not many companies do turbo jobs as most modern diesels already have them.But it is possible to fit a turbo to the W460 300GD engine with out modyfing the pistons or cylinder head(apparently).You have to alter the fins on the turbo to suit the engine though.hope this is of some use.
