new towbar arrangement
Out goes the swan neck and here comes the new one.
how much was it?
what do you intend on towing with it, the titanic.
Am I right in saying the the black adjustable part of the hitch is only held on by 2 bolts!!!
Those plates are designed and tested to have at least 4 bolts!
Looks very dangerous
well spotted piggysims :!:
i was just on the phone with shakir and he said he has the other bolts ready to fit :!:
well done shakir, you have done a class job
the reason I'm interested is my towbar mounted cycle rack won't clear the spare wheel when I use the standard swan neck.
Probo easier for me to get a roof rack or spare wheel mounted cyle carrier
i have just brought a bike rack from my local bike shop together with my new toy "MARIN NORTHSIDE TRAIL AXC MOUNTAIN BIKE!!" the bike rack i got is a spare wheel mounted model and is made by a company called
"AVENIR" It cost me £59 and holds two bikes upto 35kg,with adjustable arms to cater for the offset sparewheel.i t fits tight and needs no tools to fit. i will be off roading this sunday for sure....!
ps, bikes have changed a lot since i last owned a bike 20 years ago !
Well done Shakir.
:D Good price on the adaptor £54ish +vat from MB,
when I wanted one from Mercedes the cost I was given was £340 plus vat....
I never brought one :D

I have a very nice tow bar mounted carrier I usually use on my Audi.
I'm a big Cannondale fan, been riding them since '93 (used to race Mountain Bikes circa 1990 )
This is my current steed, although I'm running much big disk brake set up ( hopes)
problem is since our 2nd daughter was born 18 months ago I've not had chance to ride much. Now on a mission to get fit again :)
nice bike..... :!:
nice towbar......... :!:
happy riding and happy pulling everyone
what a thread  from one thing to another, all we need now is a comment from maxwell and peter perfect

My tuppence worth - you might want to consider swapping those pins for small padlocks - I've seen adjustable towbars disappear off the back of Landrovers in the past

Thanks huss, for what it cost me to build i could have bought 2 of my g's and had some change to play with!
very cool pic ... except landrover tracks are for landrovers ( or G's  ) ;)
I would love to ride some of the european stuff, maybe when my kids are a bit older :)
Easy to use with different setups.
