I have one. Do you mean the thing that has two metal discs with rubber in the middle?

Re: metalastic bushes in trailing arms front and back.......

finally finished and installed some polybushes as they are cosiderably cheaper ie. all four for the cost of one orig merc. they took about 1hr to modify them so suit in the lathe at work. they seem to be more supple/softer and also road noise seems considerably reduced, also the clunks have now gone so happy days!!!! will look at doing the fronts next i will post pics when i get a minute. also put new nuts bolts and washers on at the same time as the others where considerably corroded!

Cheers simon

Good work!

Would be interested in finding out what you needed to do exactly on the lathe?

Re: metalastic bushes in trailing arms front and back.......

its dead easy just used parting tool to cut down the bit that goes inside the arm to 20mm, then use the cut pieces as packs for the front piece, and machine down the centre steel bushes from 70mm to 60mm. i just renewed the bolts as well

ps dont do what i did which was throw away the off cuts then have to make some out of rubber!!

Bill elaborate more on available 'off the shelf' - I interpret this to mean you have a supplier set up to supply these outside the Merc network. If so how do you go about ordering them?

I am having 10 sets made now I know that they do the job, I will price them up and they will be available as a kit from me to all G owners,
the kit will include roll bar and panhard bushes too.

Would the adjustable Panhard rod be in order to accommodate jacked up suspension kits, by any chance Bill? In which case, are there any adjustable, or re-jigged, radius arms being contemplated to correct the caster angle? Just a passing thought, y'know.

I look forward to seeing what else you may be quietly developing at the back of your shed.....

Hi Mike, long time.
Yep thats the plan, time some one did it control arms too, to dial castor back in, I think the solution will be fairly simple.

You should consider doing double cardon as well, to stop vibrations after lift :)

Looks like you are sorted Bart, you don't need my help. I'll keep my stock for less resourceful G friends.
If you are just looking for a guide price so you can bid on ebay without overpaying I'm afraid I can't help you, work it ouit yourself.
