towing weights for 290 auto
I have put 3500 on the tax book, well it was left blank for me to fill in :D
But what is it actually :?:
I have the wee red "G" on the back on a Brian James,
all up 2500kg near enough
looks like I should have put the stiffer springs in though
would'nt want to bust a spring going through the West Link roadworks tomorrow .

2.8tonnes gross trailer mass, if I remember correctly and nose weight on the hook not to exceed 140kg, which, if the vehicle is loaded, should be included in the payload. You should find all this info on the plate under the bonnet which shows maximum loads for Axle 1, Axle 2, Gross Vehicle Weight and Gross Train Weight, that being the maximum mass of vehicle and trailer combined.

Ah, if we're talking legalities, there is another factor that comes into play if you are towing commercially. Most 4x4s with a trailer - gross train weight of 3500kg or more - fall under the requirements for a tacho to be fitted if I recall. Bummer, eh? I suspect some vans will get caught by this too.
I understand Isuzu are now offering the Denver pickup with an electronic Tacho installed, effectively blowing the whistle on all the other manufacturers who, in the past, seem to have studiously avoided the issue where they could.

there is another factor to consider if you are towing commercially over 3.5T. you then need and operators licence, restricted or non- restricted depending on the radius from your base.

one cannot pull a 3500kg trailer behind a 15 year old single rear wheel transit, --- read the plate ---
