460/463 conversion
Hi! I'm thinking of changing drivetrain in a 460 to a 463 in order to get full-time 4wd. What will I need to do apart from changing transfergearbox (which I have) or whatever the word is for it. (sorry I'm from Sweden :? ).
Thanx for advice
without also changing axles you will find the front axle rotates the wrong way!!!!!
Then you could sell it to the Italians as a tank chassis
Edited @10.35
Yep I read that and "twigged" it the first time,
But as my ould da aye said --
" never let facts interfere with a good storey or argument"
It did say axle(s) mind
Cheers

even thats no good, just consider front axle pushing one way rear another....you would either go up or down!!!!

In addition to the points made above, I think you will find that the 463 chassis rails are further apart to allow for the larger off-set on the transfer case (secondary gearbox).
Whilst nothing is impossible, some tasks are just not worth the effort, or the expense.

Agreed. Sell the 460, save a little bit of cash and get yourself a 463.... and save yourself a good headache in the process.
Thanx very much for advices.
It's really my brother who owns the car and has got this conversion in mind.
I had already heard of the different rotational direction of the front propeller shaft and that kinda made me a bit doubtful of the brilliant plans....
Seems like I will better try to talk him out of it for him own best. :)
thanx again :D
