Hi the advertisment indicates that this is the first production for a G wagon ..only user time will determine life.I would contact them and offer to fit one of them for competition purposes and since this is a new product perhaps they would supply one of them "Free of Charge" or at a nominal cost since you still have the expense of fitting it...You might get the agency representation for Portugal...after you have tested it...
I didnt think that G's even ones used hard broke alot of CV's

they dont normally but fit bigger engines, tyres like simex and they will break.
Hi Rocha,
Is the one pictured a genuine Merc part that broke or an aftermarket replacement?
Did that lifetime warrenty company come back to you yet ? What is their price? Do they do both 460 model and 463 model?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Mike
For the future, nice to know. Hope you enjoyed the testing.
Thanks,

Mike
good to hear, Tony has got a set for his 463 buggy, but is converting 463 axle to take 460 hubs to enable him to fit these new cv,s keep us posted rocha
Sounds like a well proven product and lets face it after seeing some of the stuff ye guys do!!! Any meer mortal would be happy to use them for the occasional bit of hard off road use.
A fait a complait I reckon just post the contact details for the manufacturer/dealer.

Mike
Its better to dont test them anymore, or I will need another Gwagon to continue the testings... I was trying to be the first to break on of those to show those americans than europeen diesel engines also ROCK I use goodyear wrangler 37 MTR tyres they are huge, We tested them in some solid rock climbs, My Gwagon never broke in the mud, only wen he had better traction, NO PROBLEMS only some damage in the external cage 8)
what was the weakest part of the other cv's. shaft, or the cage, can you physically see the quality is better, stronger cages etc. ??

its the same company that make the strongest CV's for the landrover. Ashcoroft. see the link on Rochas first post here
Looking at Antonio's broken CV, the stub shaft has broken. 463 CV's we always break the cage or the inner that splines to the half shaft. We have never broken a stub shaft, the diameter is of course larger on a 463.
we have had new cages and inners made which over come this problem, we now break the outer cases.
I hope to convert my 463 axles to 460 tomorrow, monday, and fit my new CV,s
Just getting around to stripping the front hubs to replace the CV joint with some new 463 units from RCV in the US.
All going well so far. Took the rubber boot off and cleaned off the grease.
Problem, How to remove the shaft from the CV?
I thought by extending the c clip the CV would slip off, no such luck. Even took to extending the clip and tapping the joint with a hammer to see if it would move. Still no joy.
Any and all advise gratefully appreciated.

Mike
Hi Mike
You will be pleased with the RCV C/V's excellent.
You are doing everthing correctly to remove your C/V
We have had some that are extremley difficult to remove.
A heavey right foot apears to twist the spline!!
This makes it difficut to remove to the extent of distroying the C/V.
If you then inspect the spline on the drive shaft you may need a new one. can sugest where to obtain from if nessary.
Give me a ring if you wish. 07811 12 12 35
best regards Tony.
already sent an email to them, lets see what they say :D
