While my G is pulled apart i've been considering removing the wing mounted indicators and fitting some thing else in a less exposed area.

Are you serious? Would you display Mickey Mouse without ears?

Re: front indicators

the reason they are there is to judge the width of your car. They come in very handy when negotiating trees, i,e you wont hit them if the indicators are left there. Believe me got the t shirt.

Re: front indicators

Also the indicators are great when negotiating very tight turns.

I would think you should have bigger worries about damage to other components than the indicators being pulled off by trees....

That's right... a German designer wouldn't have put them there for a reason...

Agree that they do look vulnerable, but, seen tree damage to roof racks, mirrors, and panels, can't remember seeing a tree take an indicator though.

Re: front indicators

the snag is on challenge events you are often pushing bushes and small trees around to get to the punch!
