Tyre rotational direction
I am inundating the forum with stupid questions. Please be patient with an ignoramus.
I noticed that the Yokohama Geolandar H/T G034 tyres have an indication for the direction of rotation. What happens if they are fitted the wrong way?
Merci.
1/ On backwards, generally will fail MOT test at least over here.
2/ On dry roads, probally no difference.
3/ On wet roads, look up aquaplaning.
4/ On extremely wet roads and standing water, look up Mercedes G wagen parts suppliers and body repair shops.
5/ On offroad, space between tyres lugs will not self clean as efficiently as a correctly fitted tyre.
6/ On all cases fitted backwards will usually lead to increased tyre noise being transmitted.
Hope this helps, I think its fairly straight forward.
Regards,
Mike
hey anakreon,i think this sort of mistake is quite normal in countries like
greece,turkey and cyprus
we are all the same "skada"
i have seen this sort of issue in cyprus once too many :!:
you have a point my friend, but did you know many turks work at MB factory, production line and head office in germany
if i am not mistaken murat gunak(from turkey) was the chief designer at MB germany and the man behind the W208 if i am not mistaken and also the man that designed the sleek peugot 406
i guess mistakes are for people
Thank you.
Reason for my question? that is how I found them on my 2nd hand W463: forward tyres were ok but aft ones were wrong. Of course I knew they had to be fitted the right way but I was unaware of the consequences of wrong fitting.
Anyway, the tyres have been renewed.
