Compression test

Hi,

have completed compression tests on my 460 280ge today, results as follows...

Cylinder 1 - nothing, 2 - 140, 3,4,5,6 all 160

Any initial thoughts? :shock:

Done that.

Also cleaned spark plug seat to allow good seal, still nothing

Hi it could be a warped valve seat..(has the engine ever overheated?) you will get a very definite "Miss" and a corresponding vibration in time with the miss and since the petrol engine ignites the fuel you may get the odd backfire or hesitation if you press the accelerator quickly to the floor from idle....

i presume you've squirted some oil down the spark plug hole and retested to check for snapped rings etc? altho i still think its more likely, as fixwin says, to be at the head not block
