Hi guys

The 60km service is due this year and I consider sending the G to AMG in Affalterbach for a works service.

When at the factory, I thought , why not do some safety upgrades, i.e. bigger brakes and Xenon-lights ?

Enclosed you find the AMG offer for the Mods - Have a look at these prices, lol.

cheers

Follow-up Feb 20, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Fahrwerk analog G 55K kostet EUR 1.300,00 incl. Montage.

Kompressor- Version. ( Technisch nicht darstellbar )

----------------------------------------------------------------------

translation :

To upgrade the running gear to latest specs costs 1300 EUR incl work ( sounds reasonable, maybe a typo ?).

Service costs @ AMG are not fixed like @ Mercedes (no typo) .

In any case, I like my G, but this is nonsense. No need to compete with Russian clients for a service appointment @ AMG - will do a local Service in F or GR.

cheers

PS. they cannot fit a Kompressor on the naturally-aspirated 55 engines. (just had to ask  )

Re: Safety upgrades

sounds about right! they didn't mention the xenons tho...those apparently need some cutting of the fenders and other wizardry connected to the rear suspension arms (self-levelling).
i recall hearing a guy say at the dealer in dubai, that a set of brakes for the G55 cost about £9,000, not far off. i could get a tidy little C320 for that!
