Hi Guys, do you mind can I widen this a little.
Speaking of winches and I know winches as a topic has been discussed before on the forum but I can't find this topic.
Which is best hydraulic or electric ? Why?
Are there any big diferences favouring ones choice of winch to fit on the front and later maybe the back of a 460 280ge auto? Vehicle about to be modified to do novice challenge events in the near future.
Any and all help greatly appreciated or any other suggestions as to essential initial modifications to start with.
Regards,
Mike
Mike, stick to leccy for what you want to do, my advise go a the new 9.5 come-up, strong relaible and only £399. www.paidia4x4.com forget warn, too expensive and no better. use both for front and rear, 62ft a minute when no load so money well spent I say. In fact for 1 warn 8274 u get 2 come-up 9.5's. Seriously!!.
Make sure you use good cable, batteries and connections, solder joint, no crimping
mr bowyer, say no more, lovely guy, but full of shit most of the time. The comeup and superwinch are made in the same factory. Then there's the bowmotor made especially for him , yea and I have man breasts!. If you gitctbe dough then milemarker with type r is the way to go . But to makeva nice job of it is expensive unless you know a man who can !
is yours bolted on using the bumper mountings?
