Herts / Essex boraders green lanes
Anyone interested in doing some lanes on the Herts / Essex boardes.
Starting at Clavering and finishing at Ardeley.
TOR describe route as gentle rolling farmland, with occasional moderate ruts, and occasional tight passages between trees, oh!, and i almost forgot, very deep water.
The route goes through a number of fords, including Britains longest ford at 0.5 mile long. The ford should only be deep after prolonged rain fall.
The route is 55 miles and takes about 5 hours.
Guess that rules me out then.
Sounds fun - when were you thinking?
I have a G500, and was wondering if the fording height would be OK? Any advice greatly recieved.

Think fording depth is 500mm, the trick is to let Max go first, if he makes it out the other side, i think it's safe to say we'll be ok. :wink: .
We can easily make diversions and miss out the fords if we want.
I'm flexible as to when we go.
Please not the 24th of May, have a prior engagement!

how about the Sunday 4th of may as this is the bank holiday, as on the Monday were of to France off roading for a week, seeing as you pussies aint coming !

Always best to bring some grub along, and a thermos for tea/coffee.
You never know how long the wait for a recovery truck is.

Sorry - can't make that as I am to be 'Harry Potter/Hagred / Hermione/ or some such character ' at my Daughters PTA the night before, and as Clare is on the PTA committee, I have been 'Volunteered' to stay behind and help clear up. (Oh Bollxiamus)

The fords can easily be missed out, found 2 of them on the wet roads site.
Furneux Pelham and Latchford.
And theres no way i would do them in a 300td with out a snorkel. In fact looking at some of the pics, i'll be going round them as well.
