Removal of 463 door window frame & central locking motor
Hi guys
A spring inside the front door either broke or got loose and the door does not close. Found the spare part no. for the spring at the link below and ordered that, but the difficult part seems to be the access to the lock.
Apparently the window fame has to be removed to get access to the lock cover - then the central locking motor has to go, as well as the door handle. Anyone got a description how to properly remove the window frame and central locking motor?
thanks in advance & cheers

You just need to remove the door card following Klaus' instructions here: gwagen.de/cms/grommets.html . Only make sure that the window is fully up.
Then remove the plastic behind the door card. Then unscrew the central locking motor and you can move it so as to unhook it from the wire that connects it to the door lock.
Dismantle the door lock and you're almost doen. I suppose that the broken spring is the same as the one in the picture attached. It is very simple to replace. Good luck
It's not that difficult to remove the frame. First the felt liner is removed- it is just slidd into the steel frame, lever a section out with a screwdriver starting anywhere conveient and pull it out by hand. Keep it orientated to assist reassembly. Then you will see screws securing the frame into the door. Remove these and possibly some below the window level and remove the frame. Then pull out the glass. That should open up the area to allow you to get to the lock solenoid and mechanism.
I apologize... Roly is right. Removal of the frame is needed but I did not remember it, I guess because it wasn't at all difficult. Just follow Roly's instructions. Good luck!
thanks alot - I will try that that, as soon as spring and grommets arrive
cheers
