Hello from Splatt
Hi
I have just joined GWOA, having got a W460 230GE last week. I have been off-roading for about 4 years, starting with a Land Rover series III and then a bob-tailed Range Rover.
Taking part in AWDC trials, and green-laning around Hampshire, Wiltshire, and Salisbury Plain is what I enjoy.
My 230 is a pickup with roll cage and whilst completely road-legal will be used off-tarmac mainly.

Good stuff Splatt and nice touch with the poppy. Does your 230 have a standard engine? A few people (not GWOA members) have said to me they didn't think the 230 would be powerful enough for serious off-roading.
hi splatt, seen that car on many occasions, you bought it of the guy that converted it sometime ago ?
Yes, bought it from previous owner (Bob) who had it for about 7 years, after I did a 360 roll in my Range Rover at the AWDC Nationals. Insurance company declared it w/o - didn't have the time to fix it up and Splatt was available.
I believe the engine is standard though it does have better exhaust. So far power is sufficient, and Bob did well with it in trials. I will have a better idea once I have got really used to the way it handles and done a few more myself.

I am taking Splatt (the G-Wagen) for his first play at an AWDC Trial at Bordon on Sunday, so will get some pictures and report back on how well we get on.
