Looking for a 500 v8 M117 enginen and autobox
I am looking for a 500 v8 with auto box and all the electronic parts in good working order. It’s going in my G only used for racing. I am from Denmark and have been looking for some time in Denmark, Germany and for the last 2 weeks I have also been looking in the UK but without any luck, when I call people up or mail them they are not too keen to sell to anybody abroad. I hope somebody can be of some assistance. I will take care of all the shipping

I have a 1979 450SLC. The engine and gearbox were great last time it went (over a year ago now though). Is that of any interest to you?
You can't find one in Germany? I'm very surprised.
You will pay a small fortune to ship anything of that weight off of "this island". I suspect it would be cheaper to buy a beat up old sedan locally.
no the shipping is very cheap with DHL Around 150£ and yes I have found some in Germany but the engines are complete strip and for founding a hole car when I call the dealers found on mobile.de they often don’t speak any English and I don’t speak any German.

Have you considered looking at insurance write offs? A few months back someone posted that there was an AMG63 V8 engine for scrap (tried looking but could not find it) - going quite cheap. No saying you would want an AMG Engine - but I am sure you may find something. Not sure where you would start though. Just and idea

I ll try to ask my parts guys in Austria and Czech Republic. But I think the cheapest way is going to be the U.K. . RHD cars are much cheaper than LHD. Try to look at autotrader, pistonheads, ebay...

As long as you're not talking Gs! RHD Gs command about 50% more at the least if not double!
Talking about W126 500SE/SEL/SEC of course. Looks like there are a few on autotrader around 1000 GBP. Simliar LHD cars cost at least 1500-2000 Euro.
Yes the 126 is a give away now. Nobody wants one in UK. Too big, rust fuel cash shortage. But the engine is great for a transplant

I'm trying also to get a 500 in an 280GE.
Engine is build in but have some questions.
Did you change the oil carter or modify it? What about the autobox. is it reinfordced or left as it was? What gears are in the axles?
Just in short what problems did occur during built and how did you solv them.
One last question. Fuelpump is this the same as a 280ge or specific for a 500?

The scoop on the bonnet was there for a reason it cover our hydralik pump for our winch mounted on our old 280 engien but we have now bougth a PTO for the TC. So we are going to mount a glasfiber bonnet. As for the outset wheels it is simpel becaus there is no fenders and flares on it at the mounet. the hole front was taking of to mount the 500. :D :D :D

hi i have a 280 GE upgraded to G400 with an M119.975 engine which was in E 400 , it gives 279 hp with 399Nm torque . it is a 1993 motor . feel free to contact me at fkhawajah@yahoo.com . Iam willing it to sell its has been fully restored. the done came from japan clean W124.034 , this 280GE is LHD. it painted in silver now .
