Re: alternator snorkel

up to what size 90-100 amps is the sizing identical ?
Sorry very unusal question.
I am trying to find out if I can exchange a 80 amps snorkel for a 100 amp alternator.

Re: alternator snorkel

i changed mine to a 100 amp
can't use the snorkel now though, i'm not even sure if it does anything useful

if it's that prone to water ingestion, why is it placed so low?
wouldn't it be underwater when wading at 60-70cm depth?

Re: alternator snorkel

that is what I am trying as well. Is there any G with a 100 amp alternator? May be we can get the part number for the snorkel.

Re: alternator snorkel

i've waded about 70cm depth without the alternator snorkel, it was fine.
wasn't in the water for too far though, just about 20 meters of crossing a flooded area

i'd be interested to know if the snorkel serves any real vital purpose though
maybe that'll change my mind and get the snorkel fitted back on somehow
