wheels for 33x12.50x15
hi all
just got my G
have a set of kumho kl71 in 33x12.50x15 on my trooper
think they would fit my 300gd
but I know they need a 8" wide rim - thats what they are on on my trooper
it would seem difficult to get a 15x8 in 130 pcd for the G?
any one have any wider alloys for a G?
or know where to get some
I can get them powdeercoated so not fussed on condition - as long as reflected in price
the only other thing is - of course the 300GD is slow,, wondering if they will really kill the small bit of accelerationis has, or will they be okay because they will give me higher eventual cruising speed?
heres my trooper
The only 8's I know you can get for g are from Orc, I've had three sets over the years. £100 plus each though.
hi cozz, there was a company advertising spacers in Total Off Road mag a few months back. they make spacers for the G with the landrover stud pattern. this gives you much more choice in wheel sizes and designs and also a better price spectrum  . anything for a G has a premium on it   plus the spacers will give you the clearance from the chassis you need with the 33x12.50 kumhos.
good luck.
Ive a set of those spacers on one of the G's with 15X10's landrover fittment on it, got one of the first sets direct from neil at rakeway but didnt pay that price.......
do 10x15 stick out a lot?
hell yeah!! :D :D :D
thats the way forward cozz
Quote
they only stick out cos youve cut all the body off!!
 They are sticking out at the front as well
found it on this post....rakeway

Hi there
I have a similar issue on my 460, I have some lovely 15 merc alloys and want to fit bigger 33 tyres but they are only about 7 inches wide.
Apparently you need greater alloy width it think at least 8,5 inchs wide to fit 33's.
One option i have found ( to my amazment) is an alloy wheel widening service (yes alloy!) where your alloy is cut in half on a big lathe and an alluminium band welded in place with a continuous weld bead. (contrary to popular belief this is not illegal.)
Put'BIG JIM RACING' into google.
I Just spoke to Big Jim and he said they do it for £70 per wheel plus postage about 1-2 weeks turn around.
This must be 1/2 cheaper than buying new wheels and it keep the 5 star merc look going on.
Im seriously thinking about getting this done.
You will need to fit spacers after to correct the ET which will be a your chosen alloy increase divided by 2. You may need to think about adding extra spacing for clearance too. But dont know how much is needed and will also will depend on tyre ballooning etc.
Another wheel compnay im looking at actually makes 5 spoke steel wheels about £140 each in any configuration/PCD/Offset/diameter you want.
They are used by hard core offroaders mostly landrover and are called www.mach5wheels.co.uk.
Another company company called Forgetech 4x4 makes landrover to G adaptors for £220 a set.
hope this helps
Kind regards stephen
