Oh Dear, were shall I start??? Here Goes.....

I seem to be suffering from allot of vibrations from the front Axel or steering rack. Especially When ever attempting to pull off or going up hill...(There’s this alarming rattling from the front axel??)

While inspecting the vehicle from below there seems that there could be a number of problems...

The Ball Joint seems to be leaking Grease...

The track rods look rusted, and no play on the ball ends...

And when putting my leg on the front axel wheel, (while giving it) there seems to be allot of play on the whole axel... Bearings

To be honest I’m scared to drive him, as it feels like the front left wheel might drop off...

The problem I’ve found is that in all my years of driving the G, I put the uncomfortable bumpy and clunky ride, as what G’s do... Seeming that Land Rovers feel worse...

The problem is finding a Good mechanic who understands G Wagons, and is willing to apply his love for the automotive industry, on an Engineering master piece like a G wagon... (Impossible Especially in London)

So if feel it’s a matter of trying to diagnosis the problem myself, while approaching a mechanic to simply carry out replacement of any given part... (As the fault finding process is were they tend to take you to the cleaners)

While inspecting under the G, I noticed that a semi-refurb my need executing...

Bearings first,.. Seeming that there’s too much play on the front right.... (Best to change both, But unable to find a company for replacemets)
Any idea were I can find these replacements (apart from a Merc main dealers)

Shocks and Springs from S&M and friends... (Thanks for the Link Guys)

Front Axel Tie Rods.... (What signs needed that it may need replacing??? And to locate a replacement)

Any Information at this point would be beneficial to me and my life, not to mention my beloved but frustrating G

Hi The ball joints invariably ooze grease....the track rods ends will give you steering wander if worn..rust is not pretty but will be there.....rattles and vibration is probably from worn universal joints in the front prop shaft..removing the shaft will prove right or wrong...where to get it fixed !!! check with GWOA members in your area.....
