What is the size of the socket needed to make a tool for tightening up the front wheel bearings please?
If anyone have a spare one, I would be interested it that to.

Hi Christo "any" bearing play cannot be cured by additional tightening. in most cases the bearing will collapse as a result..if you are going to replace the cv then do the lot at the same time...cheaper than MB bearings can be bought from bearing stockists. (To Pattern)..seals must come from MB
Hi Christo the tool is a castellated socket..can be fabricated from an ordinary socket by grinding the castellations...I have the tool in the workshop and your SA cousin in Louth has one complete with the bar.....
Hi From your country cousin Christo . Yes Peter we spoke .
No Wonder you never reply to my TXT messages "SMS" your number that I have for you is your landline number . I was under the impresion its a mobile . Not used to those English numbers . "Ek het al n paar keer die moer in geraak dat jy nie reply nie jammer boet"
32 size socket ground down to four teeth . North east south west teeth 8mm wide and 10mm deep. :D
Thank Peter, that is why I want to get a bearing key, I want to do the whole lot together.
I would just fill it with grease, but although I can not feel any play on the wheel, I have a squeak from the same front wheel, and it is not the brakes, as have taken it off and given it a good clean. I want to know what it is.
I use my car off road a lott, and if something squeaks, its not happy, and if its not happy, it's going to break, so that is why I am looking for the socket size.
