engine will not switch off
i was having starting problems and had the glow plugs changed. now the engine starts perfectly, only it won't switch off...whats happened?..the only way i can get it to switch off is first gear and stall.

As it’s coincident with the glow plug change it sounds like there will be a displaced vacuum pipe to the injector pump.
There is a manual stop lever with STOP written on it on the top of the injector pump.
try a search of the forum as it is a fairly common problem.
thankuthanku....thats exactly what it was.
having had the glow plugs changed. the mechanic must have decided to hide the end of the pipe, down a nook and crany. I retreaved the said pipe and pushed it back into its proper place and 'hey presto'. i'm back to normal.
but surely when he drove it out of the garage and parked it on his forecourt and it didn't switch off, he must have thought...heyup?
or just did not think!!!
