Since the trip to Salisbury Plain the handbrake has been sticking on a bit. Is this a common side effect and if so, what is the remedy?

Cheers all.

Re: sticky brakes

Hi Tom remove the brake drums and check for mud corrosion and siezed parts.. if clean and working..hand brake cables would be suspect..in which case the only cure is to replace both (they are handed) some people remove them and soak them in "diesel" but only a temporary fix....

Is removing the drums a quick and simple job? I fear it may not be.

Re: sticky brakes

depending how rusty they are at the centre boss about five minutes a side after you have the wheels off...if the brakes are stuck on then tap the end of the cable where it goes through the backplate after a spray of WD40. the adjusters could be siezed so coat them with WD40 through the access hole and wait a little while for it to soak in....
