Apparently NLGI Class 2 is required, are most multipurpose grease the same or do Castrol offer something other than the brand? Sheet says 750g filling capacity, seems a lot, how much does a service usually require?

Hi the hub grease application can be a problem! because you cannot get the old grease out without stripping the hub and because you do not know what grease is in there and if there is any oil leaking from the diff in to the mix...the best you can do is poke your finger in and see what you have got.... clean the swivels and apply a liberal coating of vaseline (petroleum jelly) to soften up the wiper seals behind the bolted flanges.....DO NOT turn the wheel with your finger in the hole you could crop the end off very easily.....

It looks like normal grease to me, but it's been coming out for a while and now it's giving up so I assume it's empty. I'm finally getting round to some of these jobs. I will probably strip the hubs in a few thousand miles.
