Ok Have just read the thread from Pok on the Diesel Speed.

Just wondering if any one of the AMG's out there have 'gone to the max' and what it is like in a G? The G500 I have managed to 'officially' do 128MPH (verified by Essex Pursuit squad back in 07) and have managed about 138 on the clock on a seperate occasion - which is scary and takes forever to get to!

Seen plenty of You Tube, and have done a 'test drive' in a pre Kompressor version about 3 years ok - only managed 110MPH

thanks

Re: Petrol Speed

90MPH in my 280 was enough. It still had some left to give but I wasn't prepared to take it!

Re: Petrol Speed

spider, 128 MPG is a world record mate

but somehow i think your telling a porky or exagerating a bit.

on another topic, i have had my cabrio up to 98mph, but i was bricking it !

my old 280 gel did 95 but i also managed 9 mpg [unlike your world record mpg!!]

G300 does a ton quite easy on a straight, and maybe 110 if i could find a long enough road here in cyprus :?

my clk 55 on the other hand hit 155mph so easy its scary !!

Re: Petrol Speed

The max I did with my 300GE was 101mph (162.5km/h) on the sat nav, it really was scary!!!

The fastest driving I have ever done was 205-211km/h (127mi - 131mi) for about 22km in an Audi A6, somewhere south of Hamburg.

Re: Petrol Speed

@ Huss - Seriously they recorded me at 128MPH, however they booked me at 90MPH, fix penalty and three points. Why? Because I was professional, courteous and polite when stopped. I also intimated that maybe I was 'bated' :P . Once the ticket was issues they wanted to look under the bonnet, as (using their words) they could not believe a garden shed could move so fast!

@ PRWales - now edited to read MPH, if it was MPG on a 500 then I suppose everyone would get one?

They must have transferred those Muppets to North Wales where they still couldn’t read. Claimed I was doing 136 in a diesel Passat.

But they “let me off” with putting 104 on the summons. Still a ban

Oh and is that the Spider that was holding up 300D on the way back from Bala (is this GroundHog Day?)
