hi all
in 1990 i went to the benz shop (eastbourne) looking for a G
after about 10 days got the call a 300gdl alto
love at 1st sight 1989 10,000 on the clock 20k
1st owner was drake & flecher (benz shop) maybe maidstone
still in love 20 years on

nice G.. is the paint original ? i see the mirrors are postioned horizontally,this shows that you really have owned the G for that long. our first G [1982] and almost all G's of that era had their mirrors like that. :wink:

btw, it looks cypress green in one pic and champagne in the other...

whats the colour code?

all paint original !! ha ha the colour is (GREY) log book
ive been looking at it 20 years & cant see grey
i see a goldy / brown with 154.000m on the clock
the only prob is the dam front window the plan is
to replace the window frame ?

Looks like gold to me.
I've had my SWB for 19 years and keeping it going. Used weekends only now but just goes and goes. Never had a puncture in all that time either, which is just as well because I am pretty sure the bottle jack has had it. Always looking out for G's and only see about 2 a year! Would love a nice newer/better one, but it just wouldn't be the same, and my daughter wants it to be her car in 8 years time (fine as long as she puts the petrol in it).
