33'' on standard truck
A friend wants me to loan his wheels with 255/85/16 tires
can i fit them on my standard 270 lwb?

No problem, I'm running 285/75/16's without any problems, and our truck are similar in that regard.
Yes, I've got a 50mm lift, but that was because the big wheels looked stupid without it. It didn't foul anywhere serious though. Even now at full lock I tough one of the arms, but I mean only touch, so it doesn't bother me.
