Semperits only seem to be available at ATS, but they gave me a price of £91 fitted, which I think is as good as it gets.
I was thinking of getting new alloys with tyres attached, but needed a couple of tyres to get me by for a while yet. They look great and work on the road well too.
btw - ATS can get the Semperits, but didn't get me a price yet. Will follow up later.
I'd love to do a G meet, but can't see any details for a 2009 AGM meeting?
If its within 100 miles and my G is out of the shop, it'd be a good trip to get rid of the cobwebs. Where are the details - I looked in the obvious places.
Are you going to the AGM or do you know someone who is?
The two in your barn would be worth having, but not worth the postage and I'm a long way from Cheshire unless you are due in this direction in the next month or so.
I'll try ATS, but all the others I tried had no supply. Country Tyres in Bristol get them sent in and supply only, but as I said, the fitting is a whopping £20/tyre which ATS would include if they can supply.
I have two good ones in my barn which are surplus to requirements.
I had some Semperits on my previous 4x4, excellent road tyres and fantastic in snow, last time ( which was over 5years ago) I think they were about £60 fitted. I am sure if you ring round a few places you can get a good deal. Try ATS and haggle! Price seems to vary dependent on who you speak to, see if they will price match.
I'm going to get a new set of boots for my 230GE. The originals are Semperits, and I've always been happy with them and like the ridge they have on the tyre wall for example. They just go with the car.
It seems they are difficult to come by these days. Semperit are now owned by Continental, and they don't seem to market them as much. My usual tyre places round here don't do them anymore.
I found Country Tyres in Bristol could get them for £71.30ea (0117 971 5151), but then fitting, valve and balancing is another £20 a wheel.
If I can find a fitter that can source them, it will be cheaper, and should get the typres for about 75ea fitted.
Anybody got any suggestions in Oxon/Berks? Or recommend a good replacement brand (Pirelli Scorpion, Yokohama G012 ??). I DO NOT need oversized mud wallowers, just good 4x4 road tyres.
