Heater blower compatibility
Hi,
I have applied for membership and will be buying the EPC CD once my membership comes through. However, in the meantime I wonder whether someone would be able to help me with the following; I have located a blower heater unit at Eurocarparts which they say is not listed for use in my car, but on the forum people have said that they have used them from a 207D van which is what they have in stock.
The MB part no for this is A0008206242, so the question is will this fit in my car - 1989 SWB VIN: WDB46023227063892
Thanks in anticipation of your help.
Aaron
Hi Aaron
well i cant be to sure with the part numbers but I have fitted the Heater blower motor from a 207 d to five 460's and they all have been ok the only slight hitch is the balancing of the fan blade on a couple of jobs after fitting you could feel a slight vibration with the heater motor on full speed this is because the motor is supplied without the fan and the originall fan and motor are balanced together so you have to use the old fan with the new motor wich are not a balanced piar but even with them not bieng a balanced pair the vibration is not to bad and i think acceptable relative to the cost of a mercedes o.e part
regards Terry
Can anyone tell me if it is only the 207 heater motor that fits, or is the one in a 307 the same?
I can get one out of a 307 from a friend.
Thanks
Colin
Evista2000,
Hi, when you resolve the problem and can state that this motor is compatible, can you please place a note in the "parts compatability" section (Members only), banner.
This is to benefit fee paying members, by saving them money on Mercedes off the shelf G parts.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for that. I had read about the balancing on clubgwagen but the part they fitted had balance weights attached to the blades as the fan came with the motor.
Will check out on bench first prior to fitting to see whether there is any noticeable vibrations.
