Saw this on ebay and asked seller about the mirrors.

Turns out the mirrors are from a VW Camper Van and look pretty good IMO. Also, he added chrome adhesive tape on the side moulding to make it look like the newer post 2002 463 Gs.

I'm thinking of doing that simple mod myself. Just thought I'd share this new info...

:D

Did he say what camper they were off. They looked pretty good.

I like the chrome strip.

Currently "doing up", a SWB and have a new full set of the 463 side ledges. I think i'll go for that strip - looks good.

Was able to source a set of 463 wing mirrors which i'll colour code like my LWB - it makes a tremendous difference to the look.

Cheers

if u don't mind me asking, did you source the mirror new or used? I've been looking to upgrade for a while but the costs are making it difficult...

Cheers!

No problem,

Both times have been used, with a good painter you can achieve a great result:

Hopefully that link will work!

If not PM me and i'll send you a shot. The remaining square hole from the previous mirror installation has now been covered by a badge.

Cheers

wow!

your truck looks great! do you have a lead to the source of these mirrors? and if you don't mind me asking, how much should I be looking to pay?

your truck looks similar to mine. I have the same interior and wheels, LWB as well. The mirrors have always been a mod i've wanted to do and the addition of centre armrests (still havent found anywhere to get these).

cheers! and thanks!

Thanks for the compliment GM3,

Can't help on the pricing , as I've bought both sets as part of a bundle- including the wheels etc.

Can't imagine they would be too expensive - £100 max?

Try a parts wanted ad - some on the forum have upgraded to the integral indicator models - nice but very pricey - and may have the old ones lying in their garage.

Armrests were something I too am on the lookout for, though not sure the retro fitting is that easy. My 1988 brochure lists them as an option - so they are out there!

Cheers

Thanks Eliot,

Can't claim any credit for the winch, it was on her when bought - along with the custom made steel bumpers and which base.

Its a superwinch something or other, has proved very useful at a variety of tasks.

Cheers
