Now that I have retired back to the UK I am looking to change my G500 LHD long wheel base for a RHD model. My current car has been looked after well always serviced by Mercedes dealers (currently looked after by Mercedes Coldstream) and has covered 39,300 miles most of it long distance continental driving.

Prices in the UK for this model seem to be all over the place does any one have an opinion on what a fair price would be for this car?

Re: G 500 LHD

Hi and welcome to the gwoa

I have driven a lhd 500 for the last ten years and also a rhd230. Have enjoyed driving them both on UK road, why do you want to swap ??

Rhd will have a higher value than a lhd due to number produced !!! How old is your car?

I would consider keeping my car ..........

In Scotland too ......

Cheers

fred

Re: G 500 LHD

The car was first registered in the UK in Jan 2002 and has a "51" plate. Why am I thinking of selling, purely because it is LHD and I am fast approaching 70 years old and now live in the UK. Having lived aboard for more than 30 years and Owned a succession of G's which were used primarily for long distance travel. (the seat in the G suits me down to the ground) Now that I am in the UK full time I find that LHD is really not for me, hence the reason for wanting a RHD.

Re: G 500 LHD

It seems that some people are fairly comfortable driving LHD's in the UK. Can't say I find the the idea very attractive.

OK occasionally, but I'd hate it as a regular thing. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Re: G 500 LHD

Yes im totally used to driving either in the UK. I have a LHD G and also my 500E.

In terms of price.,.., Well at that mileage id say mid 30's is a reasonable price but these cars do not sell quickly!

Re: G 500 LHD

The best idea of value can be found on sites such as mobile.de, yours, like mine, is a European car adapted to drive on the right, lights etc.

With regard to value I would have said late 20s.

Most Gs are overpriced and when they go it is for a lot less than the asking price.
