Sorry mate i just carn't do it to myself, I've got a bit of a water fetish you see and petrols just carn't cut it.
Anyway you don't know what your missing, you only get to drive around on the dry bits of a site.
The last owner was Lee Bond, he built the car about 18 months ago. And as far as i know has used it quite a few times in anger.
I hear what you say but I would put whatever Mercedes diesel lump I can get hold of in it before committing the sacrilege of using a L*** R**** engine!
Did you really do this?
What for?
Lee bond hey, I know him, he built Steve lloyds beast. Water and pertol engine dont mix, you must mean the rover V8. Had my 280 under water and never missed a beat. however I prefer to stay out of water, gets in every where, diesel or no diesel.
Lee gets bored on projects, why did he not pursue this or has he another project on the go.
Jesus, there is a method in his madness, wait until you see the new G from Baskill/Needham off road team. WATCH THIS SPACE.

I take it that you havn't read the captions that go with the pics.
But if you haven't; the original chassis rails strength had been compremised and there wasn't enough space to get the steering and suspension "right" on the standard g front end. So off they came, simple as!
And my front chassis rails are now 36" of the ground.
OK. point taken. I'll trust you and Ian until I see the end result.
And no... I don't read L*** R**** forums. They are taboo for me
so DD, do you actually get a kick out of being neck deep in water???. Strange. Anyhow seeing as there is a an 8274 nesting its self on the back, I guess one will be showing itself on the front? is this going to be a challenge vehicle then?? or a semi submarine.
What did Lee have in it as engine and gearbox before you had it.
Looks fantastic!!!
What is the gearing like can you still reach and maintain reasonable roadspeed?
I am asking because I have sort of 'inherited' a pair of Mog axles and it would be rude not to do anything with them!
Thanks
Richard
looking good, are you giving it a complete makeover and paint then?. When will it be finished, would like to do an article for the mag, although I might not mention it has a TDI, might make something up, errrr, its a G55k engine in it or something.
Whos doing the fabrication on the rear??
Never had the two side-by-side. Is there a lot of work involved with the steering gear, mountings, spring seats/locations, etc? Also which model 'mog did you use the axles of?
nice fab work, fancy doing mine, too busy myself.
Some new photos to me and maybe some of you..

6 bolt wheels so maybe a 406?.. not sure on 401 wheels
And the same nice pair with a U2050
It wasn't really too bad, me and the last owner fitted the axles in 3 weeks of nghts and 2 weekends. We then took it over to ireland to do the three peaks challenge, where we had a run of bad luck that saw us dropping out wth almost no drive from the auto box and a very sick engine.
I've now bought it, and i've spent the last month or so bringing it up to a spec i'm happy with. It is going to have a landrover 300tdi in it when i've finished.
here's a link to my "buldup" thread on another forum,
