Hi All,

Cranked up my G recently and then found petrol pouring out from below the petrol tank, to be more specific the fuel pump area. When I stopped the motor it seemed to stop. On closer inspection of the pump it looks corroded but no obvious cracks/holes. I have done a search on this forum for leaking pumps but can't find any like cases. Is it possible for the pump to get a leak? Any suggestions greatly appreciated,

Rob

Re: Fuel Pump leak?

Hi Rob, more than likely a cracked inlet hose, they tend to split with age.
Otherwise check around the outlet banjo - another common problem area.
If you have the cover plate on you'll need to remove it to get a good look.

Re: Fuel Pump leak?

they do corrode especially if they have been exposed to salt, one that failed on me disintegrated when I was removing it.
