hi all just wondered if anyone could advise, noticed a puddle of oil on the road the other day under my G and tracked it down to a perished hose on the difflock system about a foot below the difflock oil reservoir. if i replace this hose will i need to bleed the difflocks and if so how, what i fear is that if i engage the difflocks will i be able to disengage them, if they will not disengage is there a manual way to disengage, also gents has anyone used the slick 50 range of transmission oil additives as i keep threatening to replace the transmission oils in all the boxes and thought i might add some if any one has used it with success, i was also thinking of using castrols syntrax oil which i believe is good, your comments would be appreciated, Lynxman. (20 year old 460 GD manual, - could anyone give me a rough guide on what she is worth, good condition, no rust, drives like a dream 150k on clock, cheers)

Re: DIFF LOCK BLEEDING????

Hi Difflocks like brakes and clutch should be drained and new . 4 + hydraulic oil replenished every 3 years... there are two flexible hoses ...the other one links the valve body under the levers to the reservoir supply...if you have no history of oil change open the bleed nipple on the difflock body and with the reservoir topped up operate the control in the centre console until you get clean clear fluid then exercise the difflock a few times open the bleed again and pump until clear ...good way to determine value is monitor Ebay "completed sales" section which covers 2 weeks previous transactions.....seasons greetings.....
